Unfun, Fun then Unfun Again
The Unfun: The meeting with the Principal and Vice-Principal.
It went good in a way, DH and I had our say in a courteous and un-religious-wacko manner. Both school officials were attentive and respectful.
Unfortunately, the teacher has used up all the stupidity allowed for one person in a public education setting who had authority over my child. What came out of the meeting was unbelievable, she came up (thorough them, because we have not spoken to her) with the lamest excuse ever. We were told they will inform us of the district's findings and whatnot by the end of the week.

The Fun:

In attendance were Amanda,Angel, Annie, Aubrey, Elastic,Lauren, Suzanne and Tori. We had a great time chatting about the Twilight series (thanks for the idea Aubrey) and other secrety stuff because you know what they say: "What happens in the book discussion stays in the book discussion".
Among other things, we all decided Jacob is 26, Aubrey is super cute, Annie is the bestestest hostess, there was a representative for each time zone AND there was one topic that came coming up.

You ladies are Teh Awesome™, thank you for coming and participating, I had a fabulous time! You all get some sidebar bling (thanks for the idea Annie)

In addition, Annie get a Super Special Award for acting as the Hostess: She was amazing, made the festivities all the funner, not only she participated but had a house full of kids, read the book, cooked, made treat and had gifts for everybody. Thanks Annie!

The Unfun Again: We had a second meeting in the evening about the whole teacher thing. We met with the parents of the other child and we shared what happened for the first time (the other parents didn't want to influence our experience with either our kid or the Principal meeting). At this point I can't share anymore info with you. I don't mean to be a tease, all I can say is "UGH!! Idiot!"
Let's just say I'm hoping the school comes up with the solution on their own.

I appreciate your words of encouragement and support, as well as your desire to know what happened. I hope I'll be able to by next week :)

Phew! I had to get that out of the way before someone could beat me to the punch!

Yesterday was so much fun! It was just like we were all in the same room eating (thanks annie!) and chating and discussing important stuff together! My cheeks have returned to their natural color today after spending much of yesterday blushing. ;)

Sorry about your daughter's poor excuse for a teacher. Hopefully the district will be smart and follow through properly!

It does sound like "un-fun". Did you pull Fashionista out of the class? Did the other parent? What a mess. It sounds really bad. Hope it works out and quickly.

I'm sorry the teacher is a knob.

Amanda #1-2: I had so much fun yesterday! MOLFs rock! :)

Lisa: We pulled Fashionista from the class. The other parents did too. There are other LDS kids in this class (at different times), we don't want to start a rumor mill...hence I can't say anything else :)

    Stacey: :D

Wow! So much gratitude for virtual food!

The least I could do was pass around trays of egg rolls since I didn't read the books and didn't have anything intelligent to offer. Well, except for the part when I told everybody that Bella set herself of fire.

"Huh? She what? I don't remember that."

I am now at the part in Twilight where he asks her if he can take her to Seattle. And we find out that blood makes her whoozy.

I still say Jacob is 16. That's what Wiki says (& Lauren). He's just really mature for his age. I'm just sayin'...

I had so much fun yesterday even if I did gain like 5 pounds from sitting on my butt.

That teacher the Teh Lame. Big time.

OK, I might steal the bling even though I couldn't be there. I was there in spirit.

Will we be reading about this situation in the paper, Hermana? Play that up - "I have the C-ian on speed dial, just so you know."

I hope the school is able to come to a resolution that is satisfactory for the parents!

Annie: You deserve a real diamond, 'cause you are one :) Bella did set herself on fire, she's dumb like that.

Tori: My thighs are wider this morning, I'm afraid to measure them.

TMM: Ah you funny Chickadee. Paper? Yikes, let's hope not (nightmare inducing thoughts).

Googly eyed Toni: I came to the meeting thinking one thing and with an open mind. But turns out, at the end things kinda changed. Boo.

I hope the whole thing gets resolved to your satisfaction and that it's not a miserable experience for your child. (But I am glad you had some fun in-between those meetings!!!)

So sorry about the Unfun. :(

YAY FOR THE FUN! Every time Lauren would bust out laughing, I'd run into the office to get the update on the dicussion! Yeah, I'm pretty sure which subject kept popping up! ;)

Sorry once again about the Unfun. :(

You are so great, you know that? :D

Sorry that you, your daughter, and everyone else involved are dealing withthe unfun. Good for you going in with an open mind. Unfortunately, I doubt this kind of irrational and uninformed (ok, let's call a spade a spade..it's stupid and prejudiced) talk will go away any time soon. You're doing the right thing.

Please let me know if you are going to plan this again. I will even wake up early to be part of your pacific daylight time...

Do I sound as pathetic as I feel....

Doh! I knew I was forgetting something. I meant to come and hang out at the chat. Silly me. I did just finish Eclipse and it was teh awesome.

Sorry about stupid teacher. Hopefully you can get Fashionista out of her class!

I'm sorry for the unfun part of the day...you need some ice cream! Or an Edward hug....or both.

And yes, Jacob is so 16.

Yay!!! I had such a good time in the chat! It was so much fun.

Oh, and I hope you hear soon about what will happen with the teacher and hopefully it is on your favor! Grr...dumb teacher (so she says!)

  • At Tuesday, October 02, 2007 3:49:00 PM, Blogger Thoroughly Mormon Millie

Why do we want Jacob to be 16? Isn't that kind of... ????

  • At Tuesday, October 02, 2007 4:34:00 PM, Blogger aubrey

ooh, annie that is a great part! and congratulations on your much deserved award...i love it ncs.

WHEN i get my eclipse book back from the girl who is borrowing it, i will find the place. AGE wise he is 16, but with him phasing into a werewolf and the transformation of his body, he said he's more like 26. does NO one remember this part? anyone? anyone? am i making this up? cuz i love him so much?

and millie is RIGHT...tori, are you really wanting him to be 16?

as for you ncs, thanks for organizing this and hosting it in the midst of all of your chaos with fashionistas stupid teacher. i hope the teacher gets penalized hard.

Wow. I hope the teacher gets some what-for. At the very least, an unpaid mandatory sensitivity re-training. Maybe even a suspension. Stuff like that is just not acceptable, period.

I missed the chat...not that I know anything about these books, but I hate to be left out of anything. It's the 5 year old instinct in me.

Glad you followed through on the teacher situation. You are teh awesome.

  • At Thursday, October 04, 2007 7:13:00 PM, Blogger Tori :)

Aubrey- I love him more because I said all that when we were chatting. I said he was like 17 but with all his "added years" he was older.
Quit using the word "LOVE" when you refer to my man, er, wolf.

  • At Thursday, October 04, 2007 7:16:00 PM, Blogger Tori :)

Millie- No, I'm not wanting him to be 16, he just... is...if you go by his birth certificate. But when we were chatting I said that he was older because of the little thing he and Bella do... or whatever.
No one ever said they were talking about his "new" age- they just said that he was 26, which he isn't.
And I'm really grumpy right now, so if this comment sounds grumpy I'm grumpy about other stuff- not Jacob's age.
